Solaris is another one of our beautiful Cycas daughters, with a 'rags to riches' story.  She was sold as a kid, bought back as a dry yearling, sent to a neighbor's dairy at 1 1/2, and brought back home at 2 1/2 to start her show career - and she did it with a bang!  She is the type of doe we are striving for, being large with a long, correct frame and an exceptional mammary system - and lots of milk!

Solaris sustained a shoulder injury this past spring.  We continue to feel that she is just a timeless, beautiful doe, but at this point we are undecided about breeding her this fall.

Madison is a real pretty doe.  She is a deep-bodied doe that is smoothly blended and has a level topline with a wide, flat rump.  Her mammary system has an exceptionally wide rear udder, a smooth, long foreudder, and teats with proper shape, size and placement.  Madison is a herd favorite, being very easy going, an excellent milker, and a joy to work with.  She's had an excellent show record, but has been retired from showing for the last few years to stay home and provide us with beautiful daughters! (Look for them in our sales list)  You will like what you see!

Madison kidded this year with two beautiful doe kids.  We feel breeding her every other year is best for a doe of her age.  She continues to be a 'slam-dunk' producer of doe kids though, and each one of them is highly valued.

Trista lives up to the rest of her maternal siblings.  She was simply outstanding as a yearling and has continued on as a strong contender.  Her mammary system is near ideal being superbly attached with near perfect teat placement. Trista has good depth of body and is smoothly blended.  She has better rear leg angulation than her sisters and has a wide, level rump.  If there was something I would change about her, I would give her a little more length.  We feel that this doe and her maternal siblings are the backbone of our herd and share in some of the success we've had.

Trista came out in 2009 for the National Show and was first place 5 yr. old, 1st Place Produce, and was part of our 1st Place Dairy Herd. She had a good showing at this year's Nationals.  We're really hoping for a doe year next spring, since Trista has only had bucks for the past few years.  Even so, she is, and continues to be, a very valuable asset to our herd!

Tressa is our last precious daughter of our Thyme.  She has lots of general appearance, and is built very solidly.  Her chest floor is very wide and it is carried back through to her hocks.  She has a high, wide rear udder and a smooth, well extended foreudder.  Her teats are of nice size and shape and are correctly placed.  We feel Tressa and her sister, Trista, have the best mammary systems that we have ever produced.  Tressa seemed to be a show stopper from the moment she was born.  At the 2004 National Show in Harrisburg, she was Reserve National Champion Recorded Grade Jr. Doe and went on to freshen the next spring with the type of udder that you can only hope for.

She has continued on with her show success and has produced three lovely daughters in our herd with superb mammary systems.  All of her milking daughters have finished their championships this summer and we look forward to freshening her dry daughters.  She deserves a gold metal for showing and producing daughters as good as, or better than herself!

News flash:  Tressa finally won Best Uddered Recorded Grade at this year's National Show!!!  This is certainly a well-deserved award, and a long time coming.  Tressa's mammary system is truly something to behold, and hasn't shown any signs of age whatsoever - not bad for a doe going on 8 yrs. old!

Vizzion was a new addition to Tyler's Recorded Grade herd in 2006.  She is a smooth-bodied doe that has a beautiful udder.  She possesses some of the qualities we wanted to entwine in our herd.  Vizzion was 2nd place in the Yearling Milker class at the Nationals in 2006, and her dam, Sizzle, was the 2006 Reserve Grand Champion to our doe, Solaris.  Together, Vizzion and Sizzle won the Dam and Daughter class.  We thank Cindy for allowing us to purchase such a fine doe.

Vizzion, once again, topped her age division at the 2010 Nationals and was named Reserve National Champion.  This is in addition to  an outstanding year in 2008, topping the 3 yr. old class at the Nationals, and was also part of our 1st Place Dairy Herd.

Vizzion has maintained herself well and looks great as a 6 yr. old.  She topped her age bracket once again at the Nationals and along with her partner and number one fan, Tyler (my son), placed 2nd in Senior Showmanship.  Vizzion has proved herself by producing some outstanding daughters in other herds and we feel her kid this year, "Vindi", is one of the best.  This year's breeding to Turk should follow suit!

Lucy is a tall, powerful, large framed doe that stands on an exceptional set of feet and legs.  She has a level topline and a wide, flat rump.  Her mammary system is well attached with the longest foreudder in the herd.  She is very mature doe and most of the judges comment about her impressive size.  We feel she is true to her maternal side with all her size and strength of feet and legs.  Lucy won the 2009 Michigan All Breed 2 Year Old Futurity.  We feel this was quite an accomplishment with all the competition.

Lucy has not been shown since 2009 due to an udder injury.  She has been an excellent brood doe producing some excellent daughters.  Her 2 yr. old daughter is on her way to becoming a permanent champion in addition to milking 2 gallons/day!  Her daughter from last year, Saxs, was my personal favorite kid and has turned into a beautiful yearling milker.

Solitaire is a flashy, tall, long bodied, dairy doe.  She has a high, wide rear udder and a fore that is smoothly blended.  Her long dairy neck blends into sharp withers and a level topline.  Solitaire is so dairy and milks so well that our biggest challenge is to get her into show shape for the summer season.

Solitaire had a difficult, single kidding, and ending up having a c-section last year.  After a good recovery she still was able to make the Nationals and ended the show season with a good record (part of our Dairy Herd and Best 3 Females).  Solitaire's daughter, Solice, was National Champion Dry Doe, and it's appearing that she is sure to follow in her family's footsteps!

This spring, Solitaire suffered a cracked elbow, and had to be taken off the show string.  We don't know if she will be able to go on the road again, but is a valuable member of our herd for her milk production, and as an excellent brood doe.  Solitaire's daughter, Solice, was 3rd place at the Nationals in the 2 yr. old class as a first freshener.  We were very proud of this doe's accomplishments and feel she will continue to have a long show career.

Surri is typical of our Solaris daughters.  She has a lot of size and width throughout and her mammary system is the best yet.  Her rear udder is picture perfect and she has excellent teat placement.  Surri has lovely dairy character and strong bone structure with improved angulation over her near-perfect dam.  Surri is one of the best does to have freshened in our barn and due to poor judgment of our previous barn help, Surri and Lucy will never be the same (udder damage).  We love Surri so much that we feel she will be a valuable member of our herd as a brood doe (Surri milks more from 1/2 and udder than most does milk from an entire udder!)

This year, Surri has increased milk production from the damaged half of her mammary system.  We have high hopes that next year she will improve even more so that she can be shown ad achieve the permanent champion status she so deserves.
